Who We Are

The Animal Emergency Clinic of Rockford (AEC) is a veterinary hospital focusing on the emergent, urgent and critical care needs of the greater Rockford IL area. We are committed to you and your pet. Our mission is to provide top-quality emergency care for your sick or injured pet.

Experienced veterinarians

Our veterinarians are highly trained in emergency and critical care medicine. They attend continuing education in this discipline as well as having a varied previous experience in private practice, academia, life experience to help your pet.

Emergency Services

Our team is capable and equipped to treat urgent cases such as wounds and trauma to metabolic diseases such as diabetic ketoacidosis, renal failure, and liver disease to life-threatening diseases and trauma such as severe traumas, urinary obstruction, bloat, dystocia, pyometra and gastrointestinal obstruction from foreign body.

Compassionate Care

We have entered into the profession of caring for pets and we take the responsibility of being an advocate for your fur-family very seriously.

High tech facility

Our 10,000 square foot hospital has the state-of-the-art laboratory, radiology, ultrasonography, surgical and anesthetic equipment.

Pet safety

When designing our new facility, the safety of your pet while hospitalized was made as a priority. This includes the big things like having an air-lock system for entry to the clinic, fully fenced walking area for dogs and cameras for monitoring while in the clinic. We have included anesthetic waste gas evacuation systems, sound-proofing to reduce stress of barking, individual heating and cooling units in the kennel areas to maintain patient comfort and kennels that meet the highest standards for safety, cleanability and comfort.

Bear is one of our blood donors. He is a great boy and loves coming in. He gets pampered by the staff and always gets food when he is done. He was on Channel 23 news special about animal blood donation. Check out the video of the news story here.

Bear

Gibbs is a part-time blood donor. He has the DEA 1.1 Positive blood type and therefore only donates when we need that blood type or if we need extra Fresh Frozen Plasma.
